No one wants to hear that their RV has been recalled for any reason. Finding out about RV and travel trailer recalls can really hinder vacations. It can be a hassle to ditch weekend plans to make sure your RV is taken care of or postpone the summer vacation you’ve been waiting for all year. But, as frustrating as it can be to receive the news your RV or travel trailer has been recalled, the sooner you get your vehicle in for repair, the faster you can get back on the road.

Recent RV and Travel Trailer Recalls
This list includes RV and travel trailer recalls from several different brands. Many of these recalls have been announced by the NHTSA and include the most recent RV and travel trailer recalls for the month of May.
KZRA Recalls:
KZRV is recalling 7,401 model year 2018-2019 KZRV Durango, Spree, Spree Escape, Connect, Sportsmen, Sidewinder, and Venom travel trailers. The Solera Smart Arm awning may deploy while the vehicle is moving. If the awning deploys, it can detach from the trailer and increase the risk of a crash. Though a solution for this recall is still under development, owners of these trailers may contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016. The recall for these trailers will begin June 15, 2018.
Forest River Recalls:
Forest River is recalling several 2018-2019 Coachmen Spirit travel trailers. The models under recall are SBT2963BH and SBT2342BH. These models may have had their outdoor cooktop installed without a liquid propane (LP) quick disconnect.
LP hose quick disconnect is an important feature because it helps prevent users from being exposed to carbon monoxide. If a cooktop unit is without the disconnect feature, then it will be placed in the vehicle while connected to the LP supply and the LP hose in the “on” position. This issue can also allow propane gas to leak, increasing the risk of a fire. The fix for the recall is free of charge and owners may contact Forest River at 1-574-825-8205. The recall date is set for June 15, 2018.
Gulf Stream Recalls:
Gulf Stream is Recalling motorhomes with missing side lights. Those under recall are the 363 model year 2016-2018 Gulf Stream Conquest and B Touring Cruiser motorhomes models 6314, 6316, 6317, 6320, 63111, 5291, and 5316. These models are not equipped with intermediate side marker light. Their front and rear side marker light are also spaced more than 30 feet apart. With these features, the vehicles do not comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
These vehicles need the intermediate side marker lights in order to have the proper visibility to other drivers. Without them, the chances of a crash are increased. Gulf Stream has begun notifying owners, but owners with questions may contact them at 1-800-289-8787. The number for the recall is 04172018.
Newmar Recalls:
With concerns of fire risks, Newmar is recalling 653 model year 2018 Newmar Bay Star, Bay Star Sport, Canyon Star, Ventana LE, Ventana, Dutch Star, New Aire, Mountain Aire, London Aire, Essex and King Aire motorhomes. Electrical connection within the breaker box may not have been properly tightened. This could potentially cause the connections to overheat. This overheating can increase the chances of electrical fires. Technicians can tighten the loose electrical connections as necessary for free. Newmar’s customer service is available via 1-800-731-8300. The recall is expected to begin June 12, 2018.
Newmar is also recalling 2,038 model year 2016-2017 Newmar Ventana, 2015-2016 Newmar London Aire, and 2013-2017 Newmar Dutch Star motorhomes for a headlight issue. As drivers try switching from the low-beam headlights to high-beams, the low-beams go out instead of both beams illuminating. Newmar has begun notifying owners that without both beams illuminated, they may experience reduced visibility resulting in a crash. This recall is expected to begin June 17, 2018.
