The RV market is red hot, and among these new buyers are people aged between 21 and 36 right now or also known as “millenials”. Most of these buyers are buying a travel trailer although some are buying motorhomes and living in them full time. The millennial generation, more than any other, has discovered that they can be fully employed while “working from home” so why not make “home” anywhere in the USA in a motorhome?
Seasoned RVers will know all to well that all these new RV owners (and even people who bought used ones) are going to face their fair share of issues with their rv.
At Coach Specialists here in Dallas we do not actually get many younger RV owners at our shop, and the reason for that is we are not an RV dealer, so recent RV and travel trailer owners may not know that we can be a resource to repairing RV issues even if you purchased it from somewhere else.
We decided to take a moment here and discuss why you might want to consider taking your Travel trailer to our shop as opposed to the dealer that you bought it from.
1. Speedy Repairs
When your travel trailer needs to be repaired or has warranty issues, you will discovery very quickly that the dealership is in no hurry to fix it. We often say around hear that dealerships only want to see tail lights, meaning they want to sell you your RV and then move on to the next sale.
Brand new travel trailers (and all RV’s really) are going to have issues, and some of those issues are covered under the warranty. But when you are itching to get out on the road and use your travel trailer, then waiting six months for a dealer to make repairs is a real disappointment and in our opinion, not an option.
While we cannot guarantee that all of our repairs will be covered under your warranty, we do make every effort to assist in getting you coverage for the repair work. Sometimes though its worth it to just get the thing fixed even if its out of pocket.
Bring your travel trailer in to us and see if we can help take care of the warranty repair for you by using our free quote tool below.
2. Custom options
No matter if it is a brand new travel trailer or a used one or even a restored vintage one, as soon as you begin to use your travel trailer, you will start making a list of things to do to it to suit your needs. You might want to add slide out shelves to the cabinet, or retro fit a better TV in to the cabinet, you my want to upgrade the vanity or change a particular interior finish like the flooring. We specialize in making custom upgrades to everything from large coaches to travel tralers. Use the button below to let us know what your upgrade ideas are and we can get you started with a free estimate online.
3. Better pricing
RV and travel trailer repair parts are in short supply. So we end up making a lot of the collision repair parts right in our own shop. You’d be surprised but sometimes its cheaper to make the parts for you than it is to pay for the parts and the large mark ups that come from ordering parts through a parts supplier.
4. Better customer service (in some cases)
We are not saying all dealerships lack good customer service, but a quick search on the web will fill your browser with horror stories coming from RV dealers all over the country. We built our business just to fill the need for an RV repair shop that was customer focused and we have been very successful. The fix thousands of RV’s each year and we have long lists of happy customers. Just check our reviews!
5. Shorter wait times.
We can get most travel trailers (and other RV’s) into our system in two weeks or less. We often hear stories about customers waiting six months or more at a dealership before they can even bring their RV or travel trailer in for repair. Not so with us, we have two full service locations to serve you and we can make special arrangements to suit your needs. We even have onsite hookups if you need to stay in your trailer while we make repairs.
So if you are a millennial experiencing issues with your first travel trailer in the Dallas Ft Worth or Plano area, consider taking your trailer into Coach Specialists in Dallas TX for repairs and warranty work.
